An area in front of the main building had a sloped area of grass this had become an issue as members of the public were using it as a short cut.
Part of the job involved removing the grass slope and leveling off the area and to install a large brick planter to act as a divider between the walkway and the road. Concrete footings were installed for the base of the planter and it was then built using red brick. In addition to this we constructed new surface drainage and connected it into the existing chamber. The next stage of the job involved removal of the existing block paving walkway and relaying the clay blocks and extending them to cover the remaining area. Anti trip aco drains were installed around the atrium before the blocks were layed on a new sub base which was compacted and then had a layer of sharp sand screened onto which they were layed. Anti terrorist barriers were also replaced and signage repositioned.
