Valley View Landscapes is a family run business based on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Established in 1989 by John Rickards who started by working for local people constructing gardens and offering general landscaping services in the Derbyshire area. The business soon took off and within two years had started working for local authorities. This was mainly on larger projects such as car park construction, fencing works and dew pond construction and restoration.
During the mid-nineties we had started working for civil engineering companies on projects including the Ashbourne bypass and the A50 at Derby. Throughout our time working on larger projects we have still continued with smaller local landscape design projects such as garden construction, water gardens and koi ponds.
We also specialise in tree surgery which has ranged from one off trees for domestic customers to large scale clearance of sites including in 2005 the tree removal for a new rail line for our local cement works.
Landscaping has always been varied from constructing Tideswell millennium fountain to in the following year constructing disabled access platforms at Damflask reservoir.
Throughout we take great pride in our local gardens. We are gradually beginning to see previous clients who have moved home and want us to construct new gardens for them. It is a great pleasure to know that our work is so appreciated and valued.
In 2015 and 2019 respectively, Jon’s sons, Will and George joined the family business and are now heavily involved in it’s day to day running.
So if you’re looking for a landscaper in the Derbyshire area (we can also offer our services UK wide), please do get in touch.
